Techniques & intentions — A playful approach to Reiki

I have a very playful approach to Reiki and to spirituality. Life is fun. Even when things are hard, if you can step outside yourself and take a look at your situation, I guarantee you, there is something there that can make you laugh! You might not be ready for it at the time, but trust me, it is there.

I want to share some of the techniques, prayers, message and intentions that I've come across that I've particularly enjoyed.

Therese's Reiki Session Intention (yes, I actually used this as my intention for a treatment):

I brought a written list with me.
I ask that each intention on that list be healed.
If there was anything that I need that I forgot to put on the list, please heal that too.
If there is anything on the list that I didn't really mean, leave those off.
Please bring all of this healing to me now in a powerful, kind, gentle, loving way.

A Message from the Spirit of Money:

Money is something that comes up for a lot of people. Many feel they don't have enough and that they suffer without it or that they are not worthy of receiving it or asking for it in exchange for their time/efforts.

The following is from a session on December 27, 2007- This information came as the result of a client who asked specifically for me to call in and work with the spirit of money on her behalf. She set as part of her intention that the healing work we did surrounding the issue of money (and bringing financial prosperity into her life) be also healing to the larger community, and in that spirit, I share the messages I received with you.

"Love is not currency. But the heart of currency is love. If you are without money, you are not without love. Just as if you are without a flower, you are not without love. But the more love you hold in your heart and in your body… in your life, the easier the heart of money can find you. Being open to receive money is being open to receive love. It [money] is just another face of love. Money is very high energy. It likes to be used and played with and shared. It likes the same things that love likes. It does not wish to be the cause of shame, guilt or suffering. It is not the root of all evil.

Work with the energy of money. Hold it in your hand. Feel it. Make jewelry out of it. Let it know that you honor it and welcome it in your life. Keep it near to you. Keep it dear to you. Carry a coin in your pocket. Be in joy with it. Let it be a part of your joy. Money is not a judgment. You are not a better [person/worker] if people pay you more. Money is not a way to evaluate your self worth or someone else’s. Money is a gift to be shared. It will come as it will in the ways that it can. In the ways you will let it.

Just as we grow apart from friends and need to rebuild trust, so we need to rebuild trust in our relationship with money. We need to know that we can trust money and money needs to know that it can trust us… that we honor each other and respect each other and appreciate each other and love each other.

Money is not unclean. It carries far fewer germs than we do!"

An honoring prayer for money:

This prayer was given to me by a wonderful sound healer named Ulla Suokko. I have found it extremely helpful in healing my own relationship with money. I have worked with this prayer by sitting and doing Reiki on a $20 bill (denomination does not matter) in my hand while reciting this prayer. I would also note that you can easily make it a prayer to anything by changing the first and fifth lines.

Dear body, mind, and spirit of Money.
I love you.
I honor you.
I appreciate you.
Please flow into my life with abundance so that I may do my work and play without worry.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
